On Hawaiʻi Island, customers can visit HPM's retail stores and Design Centers in Hilo, Kona, and Waimea, along with lumberyards that service projects of all sizes. On Maui, HPM expanded its offerings by acquiring Truss Systems Hawaii, creating a new division known as Truss Systems by HPM. This acquisition allows HPM to provide locally prefabricated building materials, giving builders more options and capacity to make housing more attainable and affordable for residents. Customers can also stop by HPM's retail stores and lumberyards in Makawao, Lāhainā and Kīhei, acquired in 2020 from long-time family business, Miyake Concrete & Accessories, Inc., plus a state-of-the-art Design Center on the second floor of the Kīhei location.
HPM also services Oʻahu and Kauaʻi, and in 2024, opened its newest Design Center on Oʻahu at Nā Lama Kukui in Honolulu. This state-of-the-art facility features three specialized showrooms showcasing premium appliances, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, and complete home design solutions, bringing HPM's comprehensive design expertise to the island's homeowners and building professionals.
HPM recently expanded to Lānaʻi with a new store and drive-through lumberyard. The 5,000-square foot space, formerly known as Lānaʻi Hardware and Lumber store, underwent renovations and opened in April 2024, offering a wide range of products, including lumber, hardware, tools, paint, plumbing and electrical supplies, as well as pet food and supplies, and custom-ordering options for specialty items.
In 2022, HPM expanded its footprint beyond Hawaiʻi and opened a distribution center in Fife, Washington. The new consolidation facility has helped HPM gain more visibility and direct management of its inbound supply chain.

At Our Core, Our Owner-Employees
In 1959, HPM began an employee profit-sharing plan. Then in 1977, we became one of Hawaii's first companies to establish an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Today, employees own 100% of company stock through the ESOP.
After a year of employment (and at least 1,000 hours worked), employees become part of our ESOP — meaning they're not just employees, but owners. Owner-employees are motivated to meet goals by providing exceptional customer service, maximizing sales, minimizing expenses, and operating within our core values of Heart, Character, and Growth.
